Colors
Our Colors are
displayed at the left. The elements comprising
them were carefully selected because of
their significance to
our faith and mission, and are listed below.
Shield of Faith
The
shield is symbolic of the Shield of Faith that the Apostle Paul talks
about in his
letter to the church at Ephesus [Ephesians
6:17]. In our colors, the shield is emblazoned by a cross
formed, in part by a sword,
overlaying a Star of David. The cross
is the symbol of our salvation- Christ's death on
the cross which frees us from the burden of sin.
The Star of David acknowledges
our shared heritage
with Israel.
The purple in the shield's border and the Star
of
David denotes royalty and the Royal Priesthood of
1John 2:9. The gold
represents the refining, or sanctification
that we undergo as Christians.
Sword of the Spirit
The
sword represents the Sword of the Spirit, that
is the Word of God [Ephesians 6:17]. In our colors, the sword
pierces the shield portion of the colors and forms
the vertical section of a cross, symbolic of our salvation through the
Lord Jesus
Christ.
